Xela Redermalization – The Renewal Institute

Xela Redermalization

Redermalization is a unique anti-ageing treatment that particularly addresses the causes of ageing by stimulating, rejuvenating and improving skin quality.

It further shows great results in the treatment of pigmentation, making it a treatment of choice at Skin Renewal in ad dressing this particular issue that so many South African women struggle with.

The causes of ageing is three-fold:

  1. Dehydration of the skin
  2. The effect of free-radicals on the skin
  3. The slowing down of metabolic processes that in turn slows down the production of collagen in the skin

During the Redermalization treatment a combination of Hyaluronic acid and Succinic acid is injected into the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is known for its hydrating properties, which addresses the first cause of ageing.

Succinic acid blocks free radicals and has the effect of an anti-oxidant with powerful restorative properties, addressing the second cause of ageing. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin at a cellular level, which addresses the third cause of ageing. Succinic acid has further been clinically proven to reduce pigmentation, making this a great treatment in treating pigmentation.

This combination is injected into the skin, meaning that it reaches the deeper levels of the dermis, giving the skin the tools it needs to rejuvenate itself. The micro needling further stimulates the production of collagen as the body floods the affected area with healing compounds, both of which addresses the third factor of ageing.

The Xela Rederm – the revolutionary mixture of Hyaluronic acid and Succinic acid – is injected into the superficial layers of the skin in the pattern of a grid, meaning that the solution is being injected closely together. To assure comfort during the procedure, a numbing cream is applied upfront to avoid any discomfort.

This treatment is also known as ‘bubble therapy’, as each injected part of the skin literally forms a bubble on the surface of the skin. Researchers believe that the procedure triggers a temporary reaction of micro papules. After 36 hours, however, the solution is 100% absorbed and the skin is smooth again.

The areas most commonly treated are the face, neck and décolletage, with great results also being seen on the hands, with the overall effect being improved skin quality, better hydration and an even skin tone.

Treatments around the eyes address fine lines, thinning skin and dark circles.

For optimal results, 3-6 treatments are required, dependent on the skin quality, with 2-3 weeks between each session.

Prices range from R4,200 to R6,200, depending on the area treated.
